The Local (WIP)

New Yorkers have a desire to feel at home in their neighborhoods. So, how might we make it easier for those in their 20s and 30s to discover what’s happening in their neighborhood?

Research

First, I needed to uncover how city dwellers go about their lives and find things to do as well as who the competitors are. There were an overwhelming about of people who said they find out about local events through word of mouth. New Yorkers also enjoy convenience. And when using an app or website to find out about events they value photography and concise reviews equally.

Design

Armed with information I started sketching out user flows and rough wireframes for an app. As I refine the visuals I work with users to iron out any kinks. People want to quickly and easily find something to do in their neighborhood, so I'm using traditional icons and swipe methods throughout.
